Thank you!
honestly this is an amazing blog, words can't even describe. everything is perfect.
Not a problem! I’m glad you enjoy it. :)
Does anyone have a suggestion of how I could do this? I understand there are a lot of scenes in the movie that people would consider gross/violent, but this is a blog about the movie, and I don’t want to leave anything out.
Do you think you could promote me? I just started today! :)
Thanks! I checked out your blog, and it looks great. I suppose by answering your question, I’m promoting your blog, aren’t I? Thank you for the compliment.
I guess they must have used both Forum and Santos Party House. On Forum’s website, they say “As Seen In Black Swan,” but in this interview with cinematographer Matthew Libatique, he says the club scenes were filmed in Santos Party House. Santos Party House also mentions it in their blog. Maybe the dance sequences were filmed in Santos Party House because it was spacious, but the seated scenes were filmed in Forum? Either way, check out the images at both The Forum and Santos Party House’s websites. See if there’s anything you recognize from the movie.
Yep. I have a tag for EVERYTHING! There is a link at the top of blackswanwhiteswan’s tumblr that says Black Swan Tags. I try to make things easy to find for everyone. Anyone have any advice on how I can make this link easier to find? Maybe it’s time for a new layout?
Ah well. We can’t all have excellent taste.
Good question! I had to look it up. Apparently it was the Santos Party House. I’m heading to New York soon, too. Maybe I’ll have to check it out.
It was mentioned in this interview with cinematographer Matthew Libatique: “The nightclub scene was shot in Santos Party House in Chinatown. It was a big space, and inside we basically set up three walls made of Mylar mirror and then crammed in all of our dancing extras. I surrounded the set with green Kinos and four Paparazzis with magenta gels on them, and we just mixed up the rhythm. I would keep the green really down and we’d add flashes of magenta, or turn the green off altogether. It was fun. Technicolor’s Sam Daley pre-pared DVD dailies for us, but digital dailies don’t really tell me where I am with my exposures. To check the exposures, Joey Violante, the head timer at Technicolor New York, would put the footage up on an analyzer for me.”
Can you tell me where is that gif: http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lj8rsvbslD1qbbw9no1_r1_500.gif from? Tnx a Lot!
It’s from the special features on the DVD. Apparently some of them are available for free on iTunes? And thanks.
